Large-scale building retrofit programmes depend on the willingness and capacity of building owners, tenants, and users to participate. SocioTech Lab supports retrofit initiatives by analysing social, economic, and behavioural factors influencing participation and decision-making.
We work with cities and project partners to design engagement strategies, communication approaches, and governance arrangements that lower barriers, address concerns, and improve long-term performance. Our SSH perspective helps increase uptake, reduce resistance, and align retrofit programmes with social and affordability considerations.
